#sush Dhaba style Egg Tarka is highly popular in roadside Dhaba. There are varieties of Tarka Dal. However, Bengali Tarka Dal is prepared with whole Moong dal or Green Gram. In Bengal it is made with egg, chicken, or mutton. You can make it vegetarian too without egg or meat. It goes well with roti or parathas.

Ingredients for Dhaba style Egg Tadka Recipe

  • 0.17 Cup Whole Green Mung Dal soaked overnight
  • 0.33 Pieces chopped potato
  • 0.67 Pieces chopped onion
  • 0.67 Pieces chopped tomato
  • 0.17 Tsp Cumin seeds
  • 0.33 Pieces bay leaf
  • 0.33 Tsp turmeric powder
  • 0.33 Tsp red chilli powder
  • 0.33 Tsp coriander powder
  • 0.67 Tbsp ginger garlic paste
  • To Taste Salt
  • 0.33 Pieces beaten egg
  • 0.33 Cup Coriander leaves
  • 0.33 Pieces lemon for garnishin

Directions: Dhaba Style Egg Tadka Recipe

  • STEP 1.Pressure cook Whole moong Dal and potato for 30 minutes and keep aside.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a large pan and add cumin seeds, Dry red chilli,chopped green chilies & bay leaves. When cumin seed starts cracking add onion and some salt and fry till onions becomes soften.
  • STEP 3.Add ginger garlic paste and fry again. Add turmeric,red chili powder, coriander powder and fry it. Now add chopped tomatoes and cover it to cook the tomatoes very well. When the tomatoes are well cooked open the cover and stir fry the masala till oil separates from masala.
  • STEP 4.Add the boiled dal and 1cup of water and bring the dal boil for 10 minutes. Now add the bhurji egg to the dal and mix it.
  • STEP 5.After adding egg stir for some time and serve in a bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves and lemon and serve with hot roti or poori.
