  • 1/2 cup Mixed Vegetables
  • 1/4 Onion, Chopped
  • 1/2 Green Chilies, Chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Mustard Seeds

  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste

Directions: Dalma-an Odia Cuisine Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes. Drain and cook them in a pressure cooker until soft.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Once they splutter, add curry leaves, chopped onions, and green chilies.
  • STEP 3.Add the chopped vegetables and saut茅 for a few minutes. Then add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked lentils to the pan and mix well. Cook for a few more minutes until the flavors blend together.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice or roti.

Cooking Tips

  • You can use a mix of vegetables like pumpkin, brinjal, drumsticks, and potatoes.
  • Add a pinch of asafoetida (hing) for extra flavor.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less chili powder.
