  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker, cook the lentils with water, turmeric, and salt until soft.
  • STEP 2.In a separate bowl, mix together wheat flour, spices, and water to make a dough.
  • STEP 3.Roll the dough into small balls and add them to the cooked lentils.
  • STEP 4.Cook the pithis in the lentils for about 10-15 minutes, until they are cooked through.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat oil and add cumin seeds, garlic, and red chili powder.
  • STEP 6.Pour this tempering over the cooked lentils and pithis.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or roti.
