Ingredients for Dal makhani Recipe

  • 0.15 Cup whole black gram ( sabut urad) soked overnight
  • 1/20 Cup red kidney beans (rajma) soked overnight
  • To Taste Salt
  • 1/5 Tsp grated ginger
  • 1/5 Tbsp butter
  • 1/10 Tbsp butter
  • 1/5 Tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 0.15 Tsp red chilli powder
  • 0.40 Cups tomato puree
  • 1/5 Tsp Cummin
  • 1/10 Tsp garam masala
  • 1/20 Tsp hing or asafoetida
  • 0.40 Tsp Butter or cream

How to Make Dal Makhani Recipe

STEP 01

🌿Wash and rinse whole black gram and kidney beans 3-4 times in fresh water then let them soak in water for atleast 6-7 hours or overnight

STEP 02

🌿Put the black gram and kidney beans in to a pressure cooker add sufficient water and Cook under pressure till the pressure is released for 12-13 times (12-13 Whistles)

STEP 03

🌿Now we will check Dal and Rajma by pressing with hands, whether they are cooked well or not?If they are well pressed by hand. This means that our lentils and beans are cooked.then add salt and mix well

STEP 04

🌿Now take a pen heat the butter and oil add Cumin seeds and hing and soute till fragrant

STEP 05

🌿Now add ginger paste chilli powder kashmiri red chilli powder salt and tomato puree ,mix well and cook till the oil separates

STEP 06

🌿Now add the pressure cooked black gram and kidney beans ,mix well and simmer for 20-25 minutes

STEP 07

🌿Add garam masala and cream and mix well and simmer for 10-12 minutes

STEP 08

🌿Garnish with cream and butter

STEP 09

🌿serve hot with rice or chaptai

STEP 10

🌿 I can serve with chaptai rice lassi and fruit rayta
