  • 125 gram Mutton, Cut Into Pieces
  • 1/4 cup Lentils
  • 1/2 Onions, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 Tomatoes, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1.13 Ves
  • 1/4 stick Cinnamon
  • as required Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Directions: Dal Gosht Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add onions, ginger, and garlic. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add mutton pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  • STEP 3.Add lentils, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Add water and pressure cook for about 15-20 minutes until the lentils and mutton are cooked and tender.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, cloves, and cinnamon stick. Fry until fragrant.
  • STEP 6.Add this tempering to the cooked dal gosht and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan.

Cooking Tips

  • Soaking the lentils for a few hours before cooking can help reduce the cooking time.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • For a richer flavor, you can also add a dollop of ghee or butter before serving.
