Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat ghee and add whole spices like cinnamon, cloves, and bay leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste, chopped tomatoes, and spices like turmeric, red chili powder, and garam masala.
  • STEP 5.Add the soaked lentils, water, and salt.
  • STEP 6.Pressure cook for 4-5 whistles or until the lentils are cooked and tender.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
