Ingredients for Dal bafla baati Recipe

  • 0.40 cups Wheat flour
  • 1/20 cup Maize flour
  • 1/5 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 1/20 tsp ajwain
  • 1/5 tsp Salt
  • 1/10 cup Ghee
  • 1/10 cup water
  • 0.30 tsp 1 1/2 tsp
  • 1/10 tsp Turmeric
  • 0.30 cups 1 1/2 cups
  • 1/5 cup water
  • 1/10 tsp Turmeric
  • 1/5 tsp Salt
  • 1/5 tbsp Ghee
  • 1/20 tsp tsp hin
  • 1/10 tsp Mustard seeds
  • 1/5 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/10 tsp Sugar
  • 0.60 tbsp Coriander leaves

Directions: Dal Bafla Baati Recipe

  • STEP 1.Take wheat flour in a bowl and add maize flour, cumin seeds, ajwain and salt to it. Mix them well pour ghee on to it Mix it well Now add water n make a soft dough Make small balls out of the dough
  • STEP 2.In a deep pan boil 2 litres of water.
  • STEP 3.When the water comes to a rolling boil add the dough balls one at a time.
  • STEP 4.Let the water boil and them time it for 16 minutes. As the dough cooks, they start floating. Gently toss the water on the dough and stir.
  • STEP 5.Transfer the boiled balls in a plate.
  • STEP 6.Bake them in the oven at 200°C till they turn brown. Or like me shallow fry on low-medium flame till golden brown
  • STEP 7.Wash and soak the dal in water.
  • STEP 8.Cook in the cooker with sufficient water for 3 whistles.
  • STEP 9.Switch off the gas and let the pressure come down naturally.
  • STEP 10.Meanwhile, grind the tomatoes, green chilli and a one-inch piece of ginger, fine.
  • STEP 11.Heat 1 ½ tablespoon ghee in a kadhai/wok.
  • STEP 12.Crackle the jeera add the hing/asafoetida.
  • STEP 13.Stir in turmeric powder and coriander seed powder.
  • STEP 14.Add the tomato mixture, red chilli powder.
  • STEP 15.Fry stirring until the oil starts floating on top of the mixture.
  • STEP 16.Add the mix to the cooker along with ½ the dhania/ coriander
  • STEP 17.Bring to a boil and switch off the Dal.
  • STEP 18.Transfer to a bowl and garnish with the balance dhania/ coriander leaves. Add ghee too if you wish I did not.
