Ingredients for Dahi Chicken Recipe

  • 133.33 grams Chicken
  • 0.08 cup Curd
  • 0.33 cup Chicken Stock / Warm Water
  • 0.67 Pieces Medium onion
  • 0.67 Pieces Medium tomato
  • 0.33 tsp Grated ginger
  • 0.33 tsp Finely chopped garlic
  • 0.67 Pieces green chilli
  • 0.33 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 0.67 Pieces Cardamom
  • 1 Pieces Cloves
  • 0.33 Pieces Small cinnamon stick
  • 1 Pieces Pepper corn
  • 0.17 tsp Cumin seeds
  • 0.33 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 0.33 tsp Coriander powder
  • 0.17 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 0.17 tsp Garam masala powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tbsp Curd for marination
  • 0.33 tsp red chilli powder for marination
  • 0.33 tsp salt for marination
  • 1.33 Pieces Baby potato
  • 1.33 tbsp Mustard oil
  • 0.33 tsp Sugar

Directions: Dahi Chicken Recipe

  • STEP 1.Marinade Chicken with 3 tbsp Curd + red chilli powder + salt and marinade for 40 - 50 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Assemble all ingredients
  • STEP 3.assemble all whole spices
  • STEP 4.In a mixing bowl add 1/4 cup curd, add coriander powder + Kashmiri red chilli powder + turmeric powder + salt + Sugar and mix well. Keep aside.
  • STEP 5.Make smooth paste of tomato + green chilli and keep aside.
  • STEP 6.Marinade potato with little salt + turmeric and marinade for 5-7 minutes. In pan add 1 tbsp mustard oil, add marinade potato and fry till golden yellow / brown and keep aside. It takes around 4-5 minutes.
  • STEP 7.In same pan add oil, add all whole spices and allow to crackle, then add chia onion and sauté till translucent then add ginger + garlic and sauté till rawness goes off and onion turns brownish.
  • STEP 8.Then add marinaded chicken and sauté under medium flame, chicken starts leaving water, cover and cook for 7-8 minutes. Gradually water dries up.
  • STEP 9.cook for few minutes more
  • STEP 10.Add tomato paste, mix well and cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • STEP 11.Add curd mixture, mix well and cook under high flame for 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 12.Add fried potato at this stage and Garam masala also, cook for 3-4 minutes.
  • STEP 13.Add garam masala also and cook for another 2-3 minutes.
  • STEP 14.Add chicken stock / warm water, stir well and cook under medium flame for 3-4 minutes.
  • STEP 15.Add chopped Coriander leaves, stir well, simmer and cook for 2-3 minutes. Check for salt.
  • STEP 16.Dish is ready. Serve with salad.
  • STEP 17.pair with plain steamed rice / roti / paratha / kulcha / naan.
