  • 1/4 cup Urad Dal
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 0.13 teaspoon Baking Soda
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1/2 cup Yogurt
  • 1/4 tablespoon Sugar
  • as required Tamarind Chutney, For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak urad dal in water for a few hours and then grind it into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Add salt, cumin seeds, and baking soda to the batter and mix well.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and drop spoonfuls of the batter to make fritters. Fry until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Soak the fried fritters in water for a few minutes and then squeeze out the excess water.
  • STEP 5.Whisk yogurt with salt and sugar until smooth. Add the fritters to the yogurt.
  • STEP 6.Garnish with tamarind chutney, green chutney, and sprinkle with chaat masala.
  • STEP 7.Serve chilled and enjoy the tangy and spicy flavors of Dahi Baray.
