Dabeli is a very popular street food from gujarat and now easily found in maharashtra specially in mumbai and pune. For my love of dabeli, i reinvented it with a new fresher look. I have given a twist by wrapping dabeli mixture in cotton soft biscuit dough making it crispy, cheesy and delicious. Making a braid means cutting fringes on the side of the dough rectangle/oval, and folding in. Dabeli..in it's original form is lovely enough, but new fresh looks give it a interesting texture, taste and of course 'modernize' it!.

  • 0.29 tablespoon water optional
  • As required Melted butter, for brushing
  • 0.14 cup processed cheese, grated
  • As required onion finely chopped
  • As required Nylon sev
  • As required Roasted peanuts
  • As required potato filling

  • 0.07 cup Peanuts
  • 0.07 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 0.29-0.43 Cloves
  • 0.07 inch stick of cinnamon
  • 0.14 teaspoon coriander seeds
  • 0.14 red chili
  • 0.11 cup cold, well shaken buttermilk
  • 0.86 inch tbsp cold salted butter, cut into 1/2 s
  • 0.14 teaspoon Granulated Sugar
  • 0.07 teaspoon baking soda
  • 0.29 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup all purpose flour; more as needed
  • 0.71-0.86 red chilies soaked in warm water for 30 minutes
  • 0.07 cup garlic, chopped
  • 0.07 tablespoon Lemon juice
