  • 0.17 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 0.17 teaspoon Coriander Powder

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add onions, ginger, and garlic. Saute until golden brown.
  • STEP 2.Add mutton pieces and cook until they are browned on all sides.
  • STEP 3.Add lentils, turmeric powder, red chili powder, coriander powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Add water and pressure cook for about 15-20 minutes until the mutton and lentils are cooked and tender.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Fry until fragrant.
  • STEP 6.Pour the tempering over the cooked daal gosht and mix well.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with rice or naan bread.

Cooking Tips

  • Soaking the lentils for a few hours before cooking can help reduce the cooking time.
  • You can adjust the spice level according to your preference by adding more or less red chili powder.
  • For a richer flavor, you can use bone-in mutton pieces instead of boneless.
