  • 2.75 cup Flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 2.50 cup Powdered Sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon Salt
  • 6 tablespoon butter, cold and cubed
  • 2 Egg
  • 2.50 teaspoon Vanilla
  • 1 tablespoon cold water
  • As required For the Filling
  • 12 ounce dried figs
  • 1/4 cup almonds
  • 3 tablespoon apricot preserves
  • 2 tablespoon Orange juice
  • As required For the Glaze
  • 2 tablespoon milk or water

  • STEP 1.Place all of your dry ingredients in a food processor and pulse the cut-up butter until you get a coarse meal.

  • STEP 2.Add the eggs, vanilla and water and continue to pulse until the dough forms into a ball.

  • STEP 3.Remove the dough from the food processor and knead it a bit on a floured surface.

  • STEP 4.This is where you may need to sprinkle a little extra flour as you go. Form the dough into a ball, put in a bowl, cover and refrigerate.
