Crispy flavourful golden deep fried balls made from seasoned prawn mixture and served with mayonnaise flavoured with wasabi sauce.Crispy and creamy wasabi prawns topped with mango salsa. The zesty flavour together with wasabi which is not overpowering makes these prawns extremely delicious. This Asian fusion dish is not only popular in Singapore but also made its name in larger cities like London.

Ingredients for Crispy Prawn Balls With Wasabi Mayo Recipe

  • 250 gram Raw prawns
  • 1 teaspoon Potato starch or sweet potato starch
  • 2 No.s Spring onions
  • 2 gram Ginger
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Wasabi sauce
  • 3 tablespoon Mayonnaise
  • As required Salt

Directions: Crispy Prawn Balls With Wasabi Mayo Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a mixing bowl place 250 gm finely chopped raw prawns, add 2 gm finely chopped ginger, finely chopped white part of 2 spring onions, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tbsp sesame oil, 1 tsp potato starch or sweet potato starch, salt to taste, 1 tbsp water and mix together to well combine all the ingredients.

  • STEP 2.2 in a small bowl combine 3 tbsp mayonnaise and 1 tbsp wasabi sauce and mix well. Set aside for dipping.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 in a wok heat ½ ltr oil over medium heat, use 2 spoons to shape the prawn mixture into balls and place them in the hot oil. Deep fry for 4 minutes.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 when golden and cooked through, remove and drain the balls.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 arrange on a plate and serve with the prepared wasabi mayonnaise.
