A mouth watering preparation of flavourful pork belly simmered with ginger garlic, sugar and soy sauce and then pan fried till crispy.There is something about Roast Pork Belly that makes it so irresistible. Kids absolutely love it and so do they adults. The salty meat coupled with the crispy skin make for a very tasty dish whether eaten with rice or noodles.

Ingredients for Crispy Pan Fried Pork Belly Recipe

  • 450 gram Pork Belly
  • 20 gram Ginger
  • 8 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • 3 No.s Spring onion
  • 2 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce
  • 3 No.s Bay leaves
  • 1 teaspoon Black peppercorns
  • 100 milliliter Pineapple juice
  • As required Salt

Directions: Crispy Pan Fried Pork Belly Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a pan, bring 1 ltr water to a boil and add 450 gm pork belly cut into 1 cm by 5cm long pieces.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 boil for 2 minutes then remove and drain the pork.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 in a wok heat 2 tbsp oil, add 2 tbsp sugar and stir till sugar is dissolved and turns brown.

  • STEP 4.4 then add the pork belly to the wok and stir to evenly coat the pork pieces.

  • STEP 5.5 add 20 gm thinly sliced ginger, 8 thinly sliced cloves of garlic, 3 spring onions cut into 1 inch long pieces, 1 tsp black peppercorns, 3 bay leaves, 1 tbsp dark soy sauce, 100 ml pineapple juice and stir for 1 minute.

  • STEP 6.6 add boiling water upto the level of the meat, cover and cook for 20 to 25 minutes.

  • STEP 7.7 then remove the pieces of pork from the wok and transfer to a plate. Allow them to drain and cool.

  • STEP 8.8 in a pan, heat 3 tbsp oil on low to medium heat, add the pieces of pork to the pan.

step 9

  • STEP 9.9 add salt to taste and fry the pork on both sides till golden.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 use a slotted spoon to remove and drain the pork. Transfer to a dish and serve.
