Ingredients for Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings Recipe

  • 500 gram Chicken Wings
  • 1.50 tablespoon homemade garlic chilli sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
  • 1 teaspoon Oil
  • 1 cup Plain flour

  • 1.50 tablespoon homemade chilli garlic sauce
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1.50 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1.50 tablespoon hoisin sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Soy Sauce
  • As required Sesame Seeds
  • As required Chopped spring onion
  • As required Equipment

Directions: Crispy Oven Baked Chicken Wings Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 wash and individually dry 1.2 lb chicken wings using a kitchen paper towel.

  • STEP 2.1 place 1.2 lb clean and dry chicken wings in a large bowl. Add 1 ½ tbsp homemade garlic chilli sauce, ½ tsp salt, ½ tsp freshly ground pepper, 1 tsp oil to lubricate the chicken and help make the skin crispy as well. Toss well together so that the wings are evenly coated. Keep aside to marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.

  • STEP 3.2 when wings have marinated, add 1 cup plain flour and mix till well coated.

  • STEP 4.3 shake off the excess flour from each piece.then arrange on foil in a baking tray.

  • STEP 5.4 put the tray on the middle level of a preheated oven at 400 degrees fahrenheit.

  • STEP 6.5 bake for 20 to 30 minutes on each side till both sides are golden and crispy.

  • STEP 7.6 for the sauce, in a small saucepan add 1 ½ tbsp homemade chilli garlic sauce, ¼ cup honey, 1 ½ tbsp lemon juice depending on taste, 1 ½ tbsp hoisin sauce and1 tsp soy sauce.

  • STEP 8.7 put the sauce pan on the stove and turn the heat to medium.

  • STEP 9.8 keep stirring and let the mixture start bubbling, then turn the what to low.

  • STEP 10.9 keep stirring for a few minutes till it reaches a sticky thin syrup texture. If the sauce is too watery it will make the crispy chicken wings soggy. If too thick and sticky it will not coat the wing easily.

step 11

  • STEP 11.10 once the chicken wings are baked till crispy, take them out of the oven.

step 12

  • STEP 12.11 transfer them to a large mixing bowl and pour in the sauce over the wings. Toss and mix well till all the wings are coated with the sauce.

  • STEP 13.12 seve hot garnished with sesame seeds and chopped spring onions.
