Ingredients for Crispy Lemon Chicken And Sauce Recipe

  • 450 gram Chicken breasts cut into medium thick slices
  • 1 No.s Spring onion finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoon Lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon Rice Wine
  • 1 Lemon zest
  • 1 tablespoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 100 gram Self Raising flour
  • 150 milliliter Milk
  • 80 milliliter Water
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • As required Salt
  • 1 Oil for deep frying ltr

Directions: Crispy Lemon Chicken And Sauce Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 place 450 gm chicken breast cut into medium thick slices in a mixing bowl. Add ½ tsp salt and 1 tbsp rice wine. Mix together well.

  • STEP 2.2 leave the chicken to marinate for 10 minutes.

  • STEP 3.3 in a large bowl add 100 gm self raising flour. Gradually add 150 ml milk, stirring continuously, to make a smooth lump-free batter.

  • STEP 4.4 in a small bowl combine 1 tbsp cornflour with 80 ml water to make a smooth mixture.

  • STEP 5.5 place the pieces of marinated chicken in the batter and mix to ensure that all the pieces are well coated.

  • STEP 6.6 in a wok heat 1 ltr of oil. When the oil is hot add the chicken pieces one at a time. Do not overcrowd the wok.

  • STEP 7.7 deep fry the chicken till golden brown on all sides and cooked through.

  • STEP 8.8 remove from the hot oil and drain off the excess grease from the chicken.

  • STEP 9.9 in a saucepan add 1 cup of water, zest of 1 lemon, 1 tbsp lemon juice, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp sesame oil, ¼ tsp salt. Stir well to dissolve the sugar.

  • STEP 10.10 next add the cornflour and water mixture to the saucepan and stir well.

  • STEP 11.11 bring it to a boil and then remove it from the heat.

  • STEP 12.12 reheat the oil in the wok. When hot, add all the fried chicken and try again for upto 30 seconds till the coating is crisp.

  • STEP 13.13 use a slotted spoon to drain off the excess grease and remove the chicken from the pan.

step 14

  • STEP 14.14 transfer the chicken to a serving dish and pour the lemon sauce over the chicken. Garnish with chopped spring onion and serve hot.
