Coconut Soup is salty, sweet, full of umami, spicy, and sour all at the same time. It's a great introduction to the world of Thai food. Tom Kha Gai is a special thai cuisine made up with shallots, galangal, thai green chillies, lemmongrass, mushrooms, chicken breast, avocado oil, fresh coconut milk, chicken broth and kaffir leaves which can be served as a tasty appetizer before dinner.

Ingredients for Coconut Soup Recipe

  • 2 stalk Lemongrass
  • 2 Asian shallots
  • 3 inch Galangal
  • 4 Thai green chili
  • As required Mushrooms
  • As required Chicken Breast
  • As required Olive oil/Avocado oil
  • As required Full fat coconut milk
  • As required Chicken Broth
  • As required Kaffir leaves
  • As required Thai Basil Leaves
  • As required Palm sugar
  • As required Fish sauce
  • As required Lime juice

Directions: Coconut Soup Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Bruise the lemongrass, cut the end as it is the part, remove the outer paster as well and start slicing them and then Peel and slice the shallots, galangal, and chop the thai green chili.

  • STEP 1.Quarter about 1cup of mushrooms and 500gm of breast boneless chicken, wash and quarter them.

  • STEP 1.Now in a saucepan add 3-4 tbsp olive oil, and add all the sliced vegetables. Stir them for about 3-5 minutes. Once the flavor of the veggies enhances add 4 cups of full-fat coconut milk and 2 cups of chicken broth.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Give them a good stir and then add 4-5 kaffir lime leaves (crushing them a little). Bring it up to high heat, once it starts boiling, reduce the flame to low heat and let it simmer for 30-45 minutes.
