#curry Cluster bean or Guar is an annual legume and tropical plant which requires warm season for growing. It is grown in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh. Apart from culinary use, this plant produce gum which known as Guar gum which is exported in foreign countries. Cluster beans locally known as Gavar, Gawar or Gavar fali. For cooking, tender cluster beans are preferable. Cluster beans are packed with various vitamins and minerals. They are low in calories and also effective in lowering the blood sugar and cholesterol levels. Though this is very healthy vegetable, it is not liked by all. So making it in different and delicious way is good to make kids eat this vegetable.

Ingredients for Clusterbean Curry Recipe

  • 125 grams Cluster beans
  • 1/2 Pieces Finely chopped onion
  • 3 g 6-8 finely chopped g
  • 1/2 Pieces Finely chopped tomato
  • 1 tbsp Oil
  • 1/2 tsp Carrom seeds
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  • 1/2 tsp Coriander cumin powder
  • A Pinch Pinch of asafoetida
  • to taste Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp Garam masala

Directions: Clusterbean Curry Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. Pressure cook cluster beans. Trim both ends and remove fibers if any and chop.
  • STEP 2.2. Heat oil, add carrom seeds and let it splutter. Then add garlic onion and sauté them properly.
  • STEP 3.3. Further add tomato and sauté them till they become soft.
  • STEP 4.4. Add all spices, along with masala e magic. Sauté for a while and add cluster beans.
  • STEP 5.5. Add water about 1 cup and salt. Once water starts boiling, slow down the heat and cook for 3-4 minutes. Then turn off the heat.
  • STEP 6.6. Serve hot with meals.
