Where chhole are Punjabi curry that are made of chickpeas and spices that are soaked overnight while kulcha is a mildly leavened flatbread that originated on the Subcontinent of India. Matar chhole or white chickpeas curry is widely famous in North India or Delhi street food curry recipe.

Ingredients for Chole Mattar Kulche Recipe

  • As required Matar
  • 2 cup white matar
  • 3 tablespoon chopped onions
  • 3 tablespoon chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tablespoon chopped green chilli
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon yellow chilli powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon roasted cumin powder
  • 2 tablespoon chat masala
  • 1 tablespoon coriander powder
  • As required Salt
  • 1 teaspoon black salt
  • 1 tablespoon amchoor powder
  • 1/2 No.s Lemon
  • As required Handful fresh chopped coriander
  • As required For Kulcha
  • 2 cup All purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoon curd
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 tablespoon Melted Butter
  • As required Water
  • 1 teaspoon onion seeds

Directions: Chole Mattar Kulche Recipe

  • STEP 1.For matar

  • STEP 2.1; soak the mattar for about one hour and then boil them with a pinch of salt till they turn tender and soft.

  • STEP 3.2 in a bowl take cooked dal and add onions, tomato, green chilli, chilli powder, black pepper powder, cumin powder, chat masala, coriander powder, salt and black salt.

  • STEP 4.3 in a separate bowl take some amchur powder and add a little water to it.

step 5

  • STEP 5.4 mix well and add to the matar mix along with lemon juice, fresh coriander and mix it well.

  • STEP 6.For kulcha

  • STEP 7.1 in a bowl take all purpose flour, curd, baking powder, baking soda salt, butter and a dash of water.

  • STEP 8.2 knead it to prepare a soft dough and let it set for 45 minutes.

step 9

  • STEP 9.3 after 45 minutes make small balls out of the dough and let them rest for 30 minutes.

step 10

  • STEP 10.4 after 30 minutes flatten the dough balls using a rolling pin and use a little water to stick onion seeds and chopped coriander to it.

step 11

  • STEP 11.1 heat a pan on medium heat and plate your kulcha on the pan.

step 12

  • STEP 12.2 sprinkle a little water in the sides of the kulcha and cover the pan using a lid.

step 13

  • STEP 13.3 cook it from both the sides and apply some butter on it and your matar kulcha is ready to be served.
