Easy and quick steak-ham sandwich. Chivito is the national dish of Uruguay, It is a thin slice of tender cooked beef steak (churrasco), with mozzarella, tomatoes, mayonnaise, black or green olives, and commonly also bacon, fried or hard-boiled eggs and ham, served as a sandwich in a bun, often accompanied by French fried potatoes. A meat-lover's paradise, Uruguay produces some of the best-quality beef in the world, used in a variety of traditional dishes.

  • 1 No.s Large white bap
  • 1 No.s tomato, thinly sliced
  • 1 No.s small gem lettuce, washed
  • 4 No.s thick slices mozzarella
  • 1 No.s Egg
  • 2 piece sliced cooked ham
  • 4 No.s rashers bacon
  • 200 gram sirloin steak
  • 1 tablespoon Mayo

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat some oil in a pan and crack an egg in it.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Sprinkles some pepper on top as soon as the egg white starts cooking.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Place mozzarella chunks on top of the omelette and cover the pan with a lid.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Take a bun base and place a lettuce place on it and top it with mayo, tomato slices, cooked ham, steak and mozzarella.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Place the cooked egg on top and brush some mayo on it.

step 6

  • STEP 1.Place the top bun on it and your chivito sandwich is ready to be served!
