Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Start by soaking the flattened rice in water for about 5 minutes, then drain and set aside.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds, bay leaf, and whole spices. Fry until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown. Then, add ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Next, add the chopped vegetables like carrots, peas, and bell peppers. Stir-fry for a few minutes until they are slightly tender.
  • STEP 5.Now, add the soaked flattened rice to the pan and mix well with the vegetables.
  • STEP 6.Season with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix everything together.
  • STEP 7.Cover the pan and cook on low heat for about 5-7 minutes, or until the flattened rice is cooked through.
  • STEP 8.Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with yogurt or chutney.
