Mix in a bowl the ingredients for puttu, 1 cup rice flour, 2 tsp grated coconut, ½ tsp cumin seeds and a pinch of salt to taste.
Add water little by little and mix well the ingredients. Into the puttu maker add 1 tsp of grated coconut to form the base layer.
Fill in the puttu mix into the puttu maker. With 2 tsp grated coconut form a top layer.
Close the puttu maker with the lid. Steam for 5 minutes and the chiratta puttu is ready.
