Ingredients for Chinese Egg Rolls Recipe

  • As required Egg Roll Wrappers
  • 1 No.s Egg for sealing egg rolls
  • As required Oil for deep frying
  • As required Ingredients for filling
  • 1 cup Cabbage shredded
  • 1 cup Carrot shredded
  • 1 cup Leeks chopped
  • 1 cup Chives Chopped
  • 1 cup Bean Sprouts
  • 1.50 glass noodles soaked cup
  • 200 gram Ground Pork
  • 155 gram Shrimp cleaned and roughly chopped
  • 2 No.s Eggs
  • 2.50 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoon Oyster Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Black pepper powder
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion powder
  • 2 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • As required Salt
  • As required Ingredients for dipping sauce
  • 2 teaspoon Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Hot water to dissolve the sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Fish sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Lime juice
  • 1 Garlic grated clove
  • 2 No.s Hot chillies small chopped

Directions: Chinese Egg Rolls Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Soak 1 ½ cup glass noodles in warm water for 10 minutes. Then drain off the water and place the noodles in a paper towel to remove the excess water.

  • STEP 2.Take a scissor and cut it into short strips.

step 3

  • STEP 3.-1in a large mixing bowl add 1 cup shredded cabbage, 1 cup shredded carrot, 1 cup chopped leeks, 1 cup chopped chives, 1 cup bean sprouts for extra crunch, 1 ½ cup soaked glass noodles, 200 gms ground pork, 155 gms cleaned and roughly chopped shrimp.

  • STEP 4.-2crack 2 eggs into the bowl, this will hold the filling ingredients together.

  • STEP 5.-3next add the seasoning of 2 ½ tsp soy sauce, 2 tbsp oyster sauce, 1 tsp black pepper powder, 1 tsp garlic powder, 1 tsp onion powder, 2 tsp sesame oil, salt to taste.

  • STEP 6.-4mix all the ingredients together by hand till well combined

  • STEP 7.-5in a small bowl whisk 1 egg. This will be used to seal the egg rolls.

  • STEP 8.-6to prepare the egg roll, place a square egg roll wrapper or sheet of 6 ½ inches on a plate or a flat surface.

  • STEP 9.-7place 2 tbsp of filling diagonally across the square. Form it into a long shape. Lift the corner up and fold it over the filling and tuck it under the filling. Pull it back a little to make sure it is tightly packed.

  • STEP 10.-8then fold the two sides in and roll the egg roll to the opposite corner. Brush the corner with the whisked egg and seal the egg roll.

  • STEP 11.-9complete rolling all the egg rolls.

  • STEP 12.-10in a wok heat soybean oil for deep frying. Heat it to 350 degrees fahrenheit.

  • STEP 13.-11slip in the egg rolls in one at a time. Do not crowd the wok.

step 14

  • STEP 14.-12fry for 8 to 10 minutes till golden brown, turning and flipping the rolls over to cook evenly.

step 15

  • STEP 15.-13once the surface is hard and crispy and the colour is golden brown, take the egg rolls out of the hot oil and strain off the excess oil using a paper towel.

step 16

  • STEP 16.-14to make the dipping sauce, in a bowl add 2 tsp sugar, 1 tbsp hot water to dissolve the sugar, 1 tbsp fish sauce, 1 tbsp lime juice, 1clove garlic grated , 2 small hot chillies chopped.

step 17

  • STEP 17.-15serve the egg rolls hot with the dipping sauce.
