Strips of pork belly marinated in ginger, garlic, pepper and soy sauce and then battered fried till crispy and golden.Sichuan fried crispy pork is an underrated Sichuan dish. It is extremely popular in Sichuan kitchens especially for birthday parties and other meeting together meals. With very basic ingredients, fried pork creates aromatic crispy shell and tender meat inside.

Ingredients for Chinese Deep Fried Battered Pork Belly Recipe

  • 500 gram Pork Belly
  • 8 No.s Eggs
  • 3 gram Ginger
  • 1 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • 5 gram Ground sichuan pepper
  • 2 teaspoon Cooking wine
  • 2 teaspoon Light soy sauce
  • 200 gram Corn flour
  • As required Salt

Directions: Chinese Deep Fried Battered Pork Belly Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a mixing bowl, place 500 gm pork belly cut into 4 cm long pieces, then into 1 cm long strips, add 5 gm finely chopped ginger, 1 clove finely chopped garlic, 5 gm ground sichuan pepper, 2 tsp cooking wine, 2 tsp light soy sauce and mix together well. Keep aside.

    • STEP 2.2 in a bowl crack 8 eggs, 200 gm corn flour and mix well to make a lump-free batter.

    step 4

    • STEP 3.3 pour the batter over the marinated pork and mix to evenly coat the pork pieces.

    step 5

    • STEP 4.4 in a wok heat 1 ltr oil on medium -low heat, add the batter coated strips of pork on at a time into the hot oil and deep fry for 6 minutes till golden.

    step 6

    • STEP 5.5 do this in batches, do not over crowd the wok.

    step 7

    • STEP 6.6 use a slotted spoon to remove and drain the pork.

    step 8

    • STEP 7.7 serve hot.
