Ingredients for Chinese Cumin Tofu Skewers Recipe

  • 200 gram Tofu
  • 1 tablespoon Cumin powder
  • 1 tablespoon Coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 2 tablespoon Sesame Seeds
  • 2 tablespoon Chili and garlic sauce
  • 10 gram Coriander leaves finely chopped
  • As required Salt
  • 1 Oil for deep frying ltr

Directions: Chinese Cumin Tofu Skewers Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.-1)heat a frying pan and toast 2 tbsp sesame seeds for 1 to 1 ½ minutes.

step 2

  • STEP 2.-2)remove from the frying pan and grind using a mortar and pestle till coarse in texture.

step 3

  • STEP 3.-3)add 1 tbsp cumin powder, 1 tbsp coriander powder, 1 tsp red chilli powder and salt to taste to the roughly ground sesame seeds.

  • STEP 4.-4)in a small bowl add 2 tbsp chilli and garlic sauce.

step 5

  • STEP 5.-5)to this add 10 gm finely chopped coriander leaves. Mix well.

  • STEP 6.-6)cut the tofu into 3 inches long and 1 cm thick slices.

step 7

  • STEP 7.-7)insert 2 skewers lengthwise into each slice of tofu.

step 8

  • STEP 8.-8)heat 1 ltr of oil in a wok till smoking hot.

step 9

  • STEP 9.-9)place the tofu in the hot oil and fry for 3 minutes till light golden.

step 10

  • STEP 10.-10)take the skewered slices out of the hot oil and brush evenly with chilli garlic sauce on both sides.

step 11

  • STEP 11.-11)then generously sprinkle with the dry spice mix. Ensure that each slice of fried tofu is sprinkled well.

step 12

  • STEP 12.-12)arrange on a platter and serve.
