  • 1/2 Lemon Sized Tamarind
  • 1 Tomatoes, Chopped
  • 1 Green Chillies, Slit
  • 1/2 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds

  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Rasam Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 1 cup Water

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak tamarind in warm water and extract the juice.
  • STEP 2.In a pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped tomatoes, green chillies, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft.
  • STEP 4.Add the tamarind juice, rasam powder, and water. Bring to a boil.
  • STEP 5.Simmer for a few minutes and garnish with coriander leaves.
  • STEP 6.Serve hot with rice or as a soup.

  • Adjust the quantity of green chillies according to your spice preference.
  • You can add cooked lentils or dal to make it more filling.
