This is a unique recipe with a blend of milk, sour cream and white nuts. A must try recipe and quite comforting to relish in all weather and goes well with parathas and hot rice.

Ingredients for Chicken Sahi Posto Recipe

  • 125 gms Chicken boneless
  • 25 gms Poppy seed paste
  • 18.75 gms Melon seed or charmagaz paste
  • 12.50 gms Mustard paste
  • 0.13 Cup Milk
  • 1.25 tsp Sour cream
  • 3/4 tsp Yoghurt
  • 1 tsp Kasturi methi
  • 3/4 Pieces Bay leaf
  • 1.25 tsp Onion paste
  • 1/4 Pieces Tomato
  • 1 Pieces chilli
  • A Bunch Curry leaves
  • 1/2 Tsp Tamarind
  • 1/4 Tsp Sugar
  • 3/4 tsp pepper powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ginger paste
  • 1/4 tsp Ghee
  • 1/4 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Turmeric powder

Directions: Chicken Sahi Posto Recipe

  • STEP 1.1. First wash the boneless chicken and cut into finely small cubes.
  • STEP 2.2. Marinate the chicken with poppy paste, charmagaz paste, sour cream, milk , yoghurt, turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt for 2 hrs.
  • STEP 3.3. Now heat ghee in a pan. Add the marinated chicken. Stir fry them till they turn golden brown and tender.
  • STEP 4.4. Now add the onion paste and all the ingredients. Sautee them thoroughly. Add tomatoe puree and tamarind, cook on simmer for 30 mins till cooked and aromatic.
  • STEP 5.5. Now add kasturi methi and cover the lid. Drizzle ghee and curry leaves. The chicken posto should be moderately dry gravy in consistency. You can keep it slurry as per choice.
  • STEP 6.6. Add sugar/ honey as per choice. I used 1tsp sugar to get the khatti meethi flavour.
  • STEP 7.Enjoy plate of nutty chicken dry gravy with hot rotis or parathas/ rice!
