A tasty stir fry of chicken with peppers and egg noodles flavoured with ginger garlic, onion and sesame oil.Chow mein is a traditional Chinese dish made with egg noodles and stir-fried veggies. We love adding a protein and our favorite is chicken, but you can try different meat or tofu. This dish is pan-fried so the noodles get a nice crisp to them and then tossed in a yummy sauce. Chow mein is perfect for those nights when you don’t want to dirty too many pans or make a big mess of the kitchen.

Ingredients for Chicken Chow Mein Stir Fry Recipe

  • 100 gram Egg Noodles
  • 100 gram Chicken Breast
  • 1 No.s Green pepper
  • 3 No.s Garlic Cloves
  • 5 gram Ginger
  • 1 No.s Small Onion
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking wine
  • 50 milliliter Chicken Stock
  • As required Salt

Directions: Chicken Chow Mein Stir Fry Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 add 100 gm egg noodles to a pan of boiling water and boil for 3 minutes. Then remove and drain.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 in a wok heat 1 tbsp oil, add 3 cloves finely chopped garlic, 5 gm finely chopped ginger, 1 thinly sliced small onion and stir fry for a few seconds.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 add 100 gm thinly sliced chicken breast, 1 tbsp cooking wine and stirfry fry for 5 minutes.

step 4

  • STEP 4.4 add 1 thinly sliced green pepper and stir fry for 1 minute.

step 5

  • STEP 5.5 then add 100 gm boiled egg noodles, 1 tbsp light soy sauce, 50 ml stock and stir fry for 2 minutes.

step 6

  • STEP 6.6 add 1 tsp sesame oil , salt to taste and stir.

step 7

  • STEP 7.7 transfer to a dish and serve.
