A dessert cake made of chhena made in Odia style .Chenna poda is a delicious dessert popular in odisha. Its made with chenna or fresh paneer. The entire dish is baked and can also be called paneer cake.Chena poda literally translates to roasted cheese in english language. Its also said that chhena poda is the favorite sweet of lord jagannath (the presiding deity of puri jagannath temple in odisha). Chena poda is also made during festivals like Diwali or durga puja.

Ingredients for Chhena Podo Recipe

  • 2 Milk ltr
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 4 teaspoon Semolina
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cardamom powder
  • 1 tablespoon Cashew nuts
  • 1 tablespoon Almond
  • 4 As required Vinegar tbsp or use for making the chhena
  • 1 tablespoon Ghee

Directions: Chhena Podo Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Heat the milk in the cooking vessel

  • STEP 2.Add 4 tbsp vinegar for making chhena

step 3

  • STEP 3.Filter the chhena and keep 2 tbsp of the water

step 4

  • STEP 4.In a bowl of the chhena add 4tsp semolina,cardamom powder ½ tsp, cashew nuts,almond, sugar and the water, mix it well

step 5

  • STEP 5.Heat salt in the cooking vessel place a holder inside

step 6

  • STEP 6.In the baking bowl place the butter paper and apply ghee

step 7

  • STEP 7.Stuff the chhena in it

step 8

  • STEP 8.Place the baking bowl in the vessel and bake

step 9

  • STEP 9.Serve as cake
