  • 0.17 cup Rice
  • 1/25 cup Urad Dal
  • 0.08 cup Grated Cheese
  • 0.17 Onion
  • 0.33 Green Chilies
  • 0.33 tablespoon Coriander Leaves
  • as per your need Salt
  • as required Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Soak rice and lentils in water for 4-6 hours. Drain and grind into a smooth batter.
  • STEP 2.Add salt, chopped onions, green chilies, grated cheese, and coriander leaves to the batter. Mix well.
  • STEP 3.Heat an appe pan and add a few drops of oil in each cavity.
  • STEP 4.Pour a spoonful of batter into each cavity and cook on medium heat until the bottom turns golden brown.
  • STEP 5.Flip the appe/paddu using a skewer or spoon and cook the other side until golden brown.
  • STEP 6.Remove from the pan and serve hot with coconut chutney or sambar.

  • Make sure the batter is fermented well for soft and fluffy appe/paddu.
  • You can add grated carrots or other vegetables for added flavor and nutrition.
  • Cook on medium heat to ensure even cooking and prevent burning.
