Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.To make the sprouted moong beans, soak the moong beans overnight in water.
  • STEP 2.Drain the water and tie the soaked moong beans in a muslin cloth. Keep it in a warm place for 8-10 hours until sprouts appear.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 4.Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for a minute. Then add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  • STEP 5.Add sprouted moong beans, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well and cook for 5-7 minutes.
  • STEP 6.Take bread slices and spread butter on one side. Place a generous amount of the moong bean mixture on the buttered side of one bread slice.
  • STEP 7.Sprinkle grated cheese on top of the moong bean mixture and cover it with another bread slice, buttered side down.
  • STEP 8.Heat a griddle or sandwich maker and place the sandwich on it. Cook until the bread turns golden brown and the cheese melts.
  • STEP 9.Remove from heat, cut the sandwich into halves or quarters, and serve hot with ketchup or chutney.
