Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a large Dutch oven or oven-safe pot, cook the bacon until crispy. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  • STEP 2.In the same pot, cook the sausage until browned. Remove from the pot and set aside.
  • STEP 3.Add the onion, carrots, and garlic to the pot. Cook until the vegetables are softened.
  • STEP 4.Add the tomato paste, thyme, and bay leaves. Cook for another minute.
  • STEP 5.Add the canned beans, chicken broth, and cooked bacon and sausage back to the pot. Stir to combine.
  • STEP 6.Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 30 minutes, or until the flavors have melded together.
