Easy and quick Portuguese goat or lamb stew recipe. Chanfana is a traditional Portuguese farmer’s recipe for a lamb stew that becomes incredibly tender and flavorful after brinerating with wine and vegetables.
STEP 1.In a cooker heat some oil and add bacon and fry until and add onions, garlic, paprika, allspice and nutmeg powder. Saute the onion until soft. when brown, mix bacon/rabbit, bay leaf, parsley, red wine and piri piri sauce.
STEP 1.Preheat oven at 375 degrees. Heat a pan again and add wine. Cover the pot after 45 minutes and remove the lid. Cook for another 45 minutes. The stew is ready.
