Ingredients for Chanfana Recipe

  • 450 gram Rabbit/goat or lamb
  • 28 gram Bacon
  • 2 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 No.s Onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon allspice
  • 1/4 teaspoon Nutmeg
  • 1 No.s Bay leaf
  • 1 sprig Parsley
  • 2 No.s garlic cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon piri piri
  • As required Salt and pepper
  • 1/2 No.s bottle red wine

Directions: Chanfana Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.In a cooker heat some oil and add bacon and fry until and add onions, garlic, paprika, allspice and nutmeg powder. Saute the onion until soft.  when brown, mix bacon/rabbit, bay leaf, parsley, red wine and piri piri sauce.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Preheat oven at 375 degrees. Heat a pan again and add wine. Cover the pot after 45 minutes and remove the lid. Cook for another 45 minutes. The stew is ready.
