Ingredients for Chana Dal Vada Recipe

  • 0.08 cup chana dal/ split Bengal gram
  • 1/25 cup chopped onions
  • 1/25 teaspoon ginger paste
  • 0.17 tablespoon chopped coriander
  • 0.08 tablespoon chopped curry leaves
  • 0.17 teaspoon chilli powder
  • 1/25 teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1/50 teaspoon turmeric powder
  • As required Salt
  • As required Oil

Directions: Chana Dal Vada Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.Clean, wash and soak the chana dal in a bowl of water for 2 hours.

step 2

  • STEP 1.Remove ¼ cup of soaked and drained chana dal in a bowl and keep blend the remaining chana dal in a mixer to a coarse mixture without using any water.

step 3

  • STEP 1.Transfer the mixture into another bowl and add the remaining ingredients, including the soaked and drained chana dal and mix everything well.

step 4

  • STEP 1.Divide the mixture into 17 equal parts and shape and make flat vadas.

step 5

  • STEP 1.Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and deep-fry, a few vadas at a time on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
