  • 1/2 Dried Red Chilies
  • 0.06 cup Grated Coconut
  • 1/4 tablespoon Tamarind Paste
  • As required Salt To Taste

  • STEP 1.Heat a pan and dry roast the chana dal until it turns golden brown.
  • STEP 2.In the same pan, roast the dried red chilies, curry leaves, and grated coconut until fragrant.
  • STEP 3.Allow the roasted ingredients to cool and then grind them into a fine paste with tamarind, salt, and water.
  • STEP 4.For tempering, heat oil in a small pan and add mustard seeds, urad dal, and hing. Once they splutter, pour the tempering over the chutney.
  • STEP 5.Mix well and serve the chana dal chutney with dosa, idli, or rice.
