Ingredients for Chana dal Recipe

  • 1/4 gram Split Bengal gram (chana dal)
  • to taste Salt
  • 0.06 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 0.13 teaspoon Dry mango powder (amchur)
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • 1/4 Cup Onions chopped
  • 0.13 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1/4 Tsp Green chillies
  • As Required Curry leaves

Directions: Chana Dal Recipe

  • STEP 1.Drain chana dal and cook it in a deep non stick pan with 3 cups water, salt and turmeric powder till soft. Heat oil in another non stick pan.
  • STEP 2.Add ½ tsp red chilli powder and amchur to the dal and mix. Add cumin seeds and onions to the oil in the pan and sauté till fragrant and golden.
  • STEP 3.Add ¼ tsp garam masala powder to the dal and mix. Roughly chop green chillies and add to the onions along with curry leaves, remaining red chilli powder and garam masala powder and mix. Add this mixture to the dal and mix.
  • STEP 4.Garnish with fresh coriander sprig and serve hot with pakwan.
