Chana Chaat (chickpea chaat) is a popular street food from India. It is made with boiled chickpeas, fresh veggies and chutneys. They are typically served in road side stalls and have complex flavors which give you sweet, tangy, salty, spicy and crunchy taste in every bite.

Ingredients for Chana chaat Recipe

  • 1 cup chana / chole / chickpea (soaked & boiled)
  • 1/2 tsp lal mirch powder(kashmiri)
  • 1/2 tsp Roasted Cumin Powder (
  • 1/2 tsp Mint leaves green chutney
  • 1/2 Tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp tamarind chutney
  • 1 As Required Salt
  • 1 tbsp chopped onion
  • 1 tbsp chopped tomatoes
  • 1/2 tbsp chopped green chilliy
  • 1/4 Cups boiled potatoes (cubed)
  • 1/2 tbsp Chopped cucumber
  • 1 tbsp Some freshly chopped Coriander leaves

Directions: Chana Chaat Recipe

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak1 cup of chickpea in water for 8 hours. After 8 hours drain the water, add fresh water and salt and cook the chickpeas till done.
  • STEP 2.To a large bowl add the cooled chickpeas, onion, tomato, cucumber, coriander, salt, chaat masala and red chili powder. Mix it gently.
  • STEP 3.Add the coriander mint chutney, date chutney and lemon juice and mix it again.
  • STEP 4.Taste and adjust the seasoning.
  • STEP 5.You can serve it as is or with some sev or spicy peanuts.
