Ingredients for Chakka Vilayichathu Recipe

  • 1/2 cup Firm fleshed chopped jackfruit
  • 1/4 cup Grated coconut
  • 62.50 gram Jaggery
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dry ginger, cardamom, cumin seed powdered

Directions: Chakka Vilayichathu Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.In a pan melt down 250gm jaggery with ½ cup of water. Filter the jaggery syrup.
  • STEP 2.Cook the jaggery syrup further with 1 cup of grated coconut, and 1tsp of powdered spices.
  • STEP 3.Saute till the jaggery syrup is fully absorbed by the grated coconut. Now add 2 cups of chopped jackfruits and mix well.
  • STEP 4.Continue stirring till the jackfruit is properly coated with the rest of the ingredients and turn a brown shade.
