Ingredients for Chakka Pori Recipe

  • 3 Ripe Jackfruit pods/Bulbs
  • 0.60 tablespoon All purpose flour/Maida
  • 1/5 tablespoon Rice flour
  • 1/5 teaspoon Semolina/Rava
  • 0.40 pinch Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt
  • 0.40 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.15 Cup Water less

Preparation Directions

  • STEP 1.Clean and remove the seeds and chavini from jackfruit. Cut the chulas into two equal pieces.

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Take a bowl and 3tbsp maida, 1tbsp rice flour, 1tsp semolina, 2tbsp sugar, 2 pinch turmeric powder, a pinch of salt and mix well.
  • STEP 2.Gradually add some water (approx ¾ cup)and mix well to make the batter.
  • STEP 3.Heat oil in a kadai. Dip the jackfruit pieces in the batter and gently put it to oil. Fry it in batches. Make sure to fry it in medium flame.
  • STEP 4.When both sides are done frying, transfer it to a paper towel. Chakka pori is ready now.

Special Comments

  • STEP 1.Wheat flour can be used instead of maida.
