STEP 1.Add 5 cups of unripe jackfruit, ½ tsp turmeric powder, a pinch of salt and 3 cups of water. Steam in a vessel with lid for 15 minutes.
STEP 2.Grind 1 tbsp grated coconut, 5 green chilly,4 shallots, 1 stem of plucked curry leaves and 3 garlic to form a fine paste. Mash the steamed jackfruit mix.
STEP 3.Add the gravy and mix well. Stir-cook for another 2 minutes and turn off the flame.
STEP 4.For preparing tempering,in a pan heat 2 tbsp coconut oil. Add ½ tsp mustard seeds. Let it splutter. Then add 1 stem of plucked curry leaves and 5 chopped dry red chillies and 1 tbsp grated coconut. Now transfer the tempering to the chakka erissery.
