  • 250 gram Ash Gourd, Peeled And Chopped Into Cubes
  • 125 gram Shrimp, Cleaned And Deveined
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/2 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/2 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Cumin Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Red Chili Powder
  • 1/2 cup Coconut Milk
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • as needed Fresh Coriander Leaves For Garnish

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Peel and chop the ash gourd into small cubes. Clean and devein the shrimp.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Once they splutter, add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, cumin powder, and red chili powder. Cook for a minute.
  • STEP 4.Add the ash gourd cubes and cook until they are slightly tender.
  • STEP 5.Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink and are cooked through.
  • STEP 6.Pour in coconut milk and simmer for a few minutes. Adjust the seasoning with salt.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve hot with steamed rice.

  • Make sure to peel the ash gourd properly, removing the tough skin.
