Cashew Chicken Recipe

This delicious cashew chicken is a hot favorite at our house. In it, crispy chunks of white meat chicken combined with scallions and toasted cashews are then then tossed in a kicked-up sauce. This recipe isn't a take out fake out, it's much better than anything you'll pay a mint for and tote home in a cardboard container. This is my own take on an asian favorite. Chopsticks are optional.

  • 0.03 teaspoon Garlic salt
  • 0.38 tablespoon Cornstarch divided
  • As required Olive oil
  • 0.13 teaspoon Sesame oil additional as needed
  • 0.13 bunch Green onions thinly sliced
  • 0.09 cup Roasted cashews unsalted or lightly salted
  • 0.88 ounce 1 jar hoison sauce
  • 0.03 cup Low sodium teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 tablespoon Rice wine vinegar
  • 0.13 tablespoon Tomato paste
  • 0.13 tablespoon Brown sugar
  • 0.13 teaspoon Garlic powder
  • 0.06 teaspoon Red pepper flakes
  • 0.03 teaspoon Ground ginger
  • As required Jasmine or basmati rice for serving
