  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric Powder

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the lentils and rice for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, add the soaked lentils, rice, water, turmeric powder, and salt. Cook for 3-4 whistles or until the lentils and rice are cooked.
  • STEP 3.In a separate pan, heat oil and add mustard seeds, cumin seeds, and curry leaves. Once they splutter, add chopped carrots and saut茅 until they are cooked.
  • STEP 4.Add the cooked lentils and rice to the pan with carrots. Mix well and cook for a few minutes.
  • STEP 5.Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot with yogurt or pickle.

  • You can add vegetables like peas or beans along with carrots for added nutrition.
