Ingredients for Caramel Semiya Payasam Recipe

  • 1/2 tablespoon Ghee
  • 3/4 tablespoon Cashew nuts
  • 3/4 tablespoon Raisins
  • 1/4 cup Vermicelli
  • 3/4 cup Milk
  • 1/4 tablespoon Sugar
  • 0.06 cup Water
  • 0.19 cup Condensed mil
  • 1/4 pinch Salt
  • 0.13 teaspoon Cardamom powder

Directions: Caramel Semiya Payasam Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Heat ghee in a pan and add in 3 tsp each of cashew nuts and raisins. Roast them for a few minutes and keep them aside for garnishing.
  • STEP 2.In the same pan, roast 1 cup of vermicelli till it's golden brown. Heat a vessel on the stove, pour in 3 cups of milk and bring it to boil.
  • STEP 3.Transfer the boiled milk to roasted vermicelli. Cook with a lid on a vessel for 5-6 minutes on medium flame.
  • STEP 4.In a separate pan, caramelize 1 tbsp of sugar. Pour in ¼ cup of water with caramelized sugar to get a caramel solution. Keep it aside to cool.
  • STEP 5.Add ¾ cup of condensed milk into the cooked vermicelli and add a pinch of salt and ¼ tsp of cardamom powder. Mix well to incorporate.
  • STEP 6.Serve into a dessert bowl and garnish with the roasted dry fruits.
