#bread French toast is a very tasty and easy breakfast dish popular around the world. Today I am sharing a french toast recipe with a very healthy twist. I used buttermilk and brown bread to make the french toast. Also made a delicious fruit salad and served with the french toast. They are too delicious which can also be served as breakfast or dessert with a hint of chilli and chat masala.

Ingredients for Buttermilk French Toast stuffed with fresh fruit salad Recipe

  • 1 Pieces medium sized eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Maida/All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 A Pinch Baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon Buttermilk
  • 1/2 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 A Pinch Salt
  • 0.13 teaspoon vanilla essence
  • 2 Pieces brown bread slices
  • 1/2 tablespoon Butter
  • 0.13 cup Ripe Papaya Cubes
  • 0.13 cup Ripe Banana Cubes
  • 0.13 cup Musk Melon Cubes
  • 0.13 cup pineapple cubes
  • 1 tablespoon Any Kind of Berries
  • 1 tablespoon Pomegranate Carnels
  • 1 Pieces Fresh cherries
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice
  • 1/2 tablespoon Honey
  • 2.50 Sprig Mint leaves
  • 1/4 teaspoon Dry mint powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon chat masala
  • 0.13 teaspoon Chilli Flakes
  • as required hung curd
  • as required icing sugar for dusting
  • sprig Few Mint Sprig

Directions: Buttermilk French Toast Stuffed With Fresh Fruit Salad Recipe

  • STEP 1.First prepare the salad.Make a mixture with honey, lemon juice, salt, mint powder, chilli flakes and chat masala.Add 1-2 teaspoon of water if honey is very thick.
  • STEP 2.Set aside to release flavour.
  • STEP 3.Cut all the fruits in small cubes.
  • STEP 4.Take a big mixing bowl, add in chopped fruits, fresh mint leaves and the honey-lemon mixture.
  • STEP 5.Mix everything very well. Cover and keep in the refrigerator.
  • STEP 6.Now make the French toast.Beat eggs and then add in all-purpose flour, buttermilk, brown sugar, baking powder, vanilla and salt.
  • STEP 7.Mix well to make a lump free mixture.
  • STEP 8.Cut bread pieces in roundals with a cookie cutter.(You can use the bread pieces as they are. I want to give a fancy style to them.)

  • STEP 9.Dip the bread roundals in egg mixture for few seconds.
  • STEP 10.Heat a non-stick pan with 1 tablespoon of butter.
  • STEP 11.Fry the french toasts on both sides in medium low heat until light golden brown.

  • STEP 12.Remove from heat.Buttermilk french toast is ready now.
  • STEP 13.For assembling, take a white serving dish.
  • STEP 14.Place 1 round french toast piece at the centre.
  • STEP 15.Spread some thick hung curd on the top.

  • STEP 16.Next spoon some prepared fruit salad to make a layer of fruit.

  • STEP 17.Cover with another french toast roundals.Also spread hung curd as before followed by some more fruit salad.

  • STEP 18.Take one french toast roundals.Take out small roundals with a small mould to make a doughnut shape french toast.

  • STEP 19.Place it on the top of the fruit salad.

  • STEP 20.Scoop out some fruits to make small balls, dip them into the juice of fruit salad and place on the french toast stack.

  • STEP 21.Dust some icing sugar and garnish with mint leaves.
