Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak the brown rice for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a large saucepan, bring the milk to a boil.
  • STEP 3.Add the soaked brown rice to the boiling milk and cook on low heat, stirring occasionally.
  • STEP 4.Once the rice is cooked and the mixture thickens, add sugar and cardamom powder.
  • STEP 5.Continue to cook for another 5 minutes until the sugar is dissolved and the kheer reaches a creamy consistency.
  • STEP 6.Remove from heat and let it cool.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with chopped nuts and serve chilled or at room temperature.

Cooking Tips

  • Make sure to stir the kheer frequently to prevent it from sticking to the bottom of the pan.
