Directions: Brown Lentil/sabut Masoor Daal With Rice Recipe

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Rinse the brown lentils thoroughly and soak them in water for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.In a pressure cooker, heat oil and add cumin seeds, chopped onions, and minced garlic. Saut茅 until onions turn golden brown.
  • STEP 3.Add the soaked lentils, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
  • STEP 4.Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles or until the lentils are cooked and tender.
  • STEP 5.In a separate pan, heat ghee and add cumin seeds, dried red chilies, and curry leaves. Saut茅 for a minute.
  • STEP 6.Add this tempering to the cooked lentils and mix well. Simmer for a few minutes.
  • STEP 7.Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve hot with steamed rice.
