  • STEP 1.In a pan, dry roast the broken wheat until it turns golden brown and aromatic.
  • STEP 2.Allow the roasted broken wheat to cool and then grind it into a fine powder.
  • STEP 3.In a mixing bowl, combine the broken wheat powder, yogurt, salt, and water to make a thick batter.
  • STEP 4.Grease the idli plates with oil and pour the batter into each cavity.
  • STEP 5.Steam the idlis in a steamer for about 10-12 minutes or until they are cooked through.
  • STEP 6.Once cooked, remove the idlis from the steamer and let them cool for a few minutes.
