Braised Crispy Chicken Wings Recipe

Pan fried chicken wings braised in a sweet ,spicy and tangy sauce. Chinese red-cooking is a famous cooking method which is used in daily cooking for almost all Chinese cooks and housewives. The method of red cooking usually means to braise ingredients; on most occasions are meats, in soy sauce and rock sugar, which creates deeply savory dishes in the color of rich mahogany hue.

Ingredients for Braised Crispy Chicken Wings Recipe

  • 500 gram Chicken wings cut into bite size chunks
  • 10 gram Ginger
  • 3 Garlic sliced cloves
  • 2 No.s Spring onions finely chopped
  • 2 No.s Red chilli sliced
  • 1 teaspoon White pepper powder
  • 1 tablespoon Light soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Cooking wine
  • 1 tablespoon Vinegar
  • 10 gram Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Cornflour
  • 20 milliliter Water
  • 300 milliliter Chicken Stock
  • As required Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Oil

Directions: Braised Crispy Chicken Wings Recipe

step 1

  • STEP 1.1 in a large mixing bowl add 500 gm chicken wings cut into bite size chunks.

step 2

  • STEP 2.2 add ½ tbsp cooking wine, 1 tsp white pepper powder and salt to taste.

step 3

  • STEP 3.3 mix all the ingredients together with the chicken wings and leave to marinate for 5 minutes.

  • STEP 4.4 in a wok heat 1 tbsp oil, add the marinated chicken wings and fry till all the pieces are evenly golden on all sides.

  • STEP 5.5 then add 3 cloves thinly sliced garlic, 10 gm thinly sliced ginger,1 finely chopped spring onion and mix together and fry for 5 seconds.

  • STEP 6.6 next add 2 sliced red chillies, 1 tbsp vinegar, 10 gm sugar,1 tbsp light soy sauce, ½ tbsp cooking wine and salt to taste. Stir together well.

  • STEP 7.7 then pour in 300 ml chicken stock and bring to a boil.

step 8

  • STEP 8.8 cook for 10 minutes till the meat is tender.

  • STEP 9.9 in a small bowl mix 1 tbsp cornflour with 20 ml water to get a smooth paste.

step 10

  • STEP 10.10 add this to the wok and stir well.

step 11

  • STEP 11.11 cook for 1 minute till the sauce in the pan thickens. Turn off the heat.

step 12

  • STEP 12.12 transfer to a dish and serve garnished with 1 finely chopped spring onion.
