Bourbon Pink Grapefruit Fizz Recipe

Recipe By Southern Living

The flavors of tart grapefruit, robust bourbon, and earthy sage come together to create a refreshing fizzy concoction were serving up at our next party. Using a sage-infused simple syrup, fresh grapefruit juice, your favorite bourbon, and grapefruit-essenced sparkling water (such as our beloved la croix), this fizz will tickle the taste buds of your guests without a doubt. Taking a fun spin on our favorite tom collins, this fizzy citrus-inspired cocktail is served over ice in a collins glass and garnished with a fresh wedge of grapefruit. These boozy refreshments make the perfect addition to your weekend plans and parties, and if you just planned a small batch, think again After a taste, your friends are going to want to abandon their run-of-the-mill drinks for your fizzy fun. Luckily enough, these are easy to prepare in just a minute and wont keep your admirers waiting long. Switching out the traditional light liquors that often go with citrus-inspired fizz cocktails gives a southern spin. If we had to pick a house spirit for the south, it would (unquestionably) have to be awarded to the kentucky-born star that just keeps getting better with age: bourbon. For us, it was a no-brainer to try it out in a new way, with the tangy taste of grapefruit and earthy notes of sage-infused simple syrup. Using sage in this flavor profile gives a whole new complexity to an otherwise simple recipe. And it has us already thinking of new ways to use it for other big-patch punches and traditional southern cocktails We think it would pair well as well with less robust liquors, such as vodka and gin, for a completely different experience. For now, well let it shine in this grapefruit-and-bourbon beverage.
